Here’s Everet. Number 3 in the main cast of Welcome to Soulmarket, both that he’s the last to have been designed and the final to have this sort of full painting of him made. The other two are Seirus and Caprii. This is my favorite of the three paintings though. Honestly it came from me showing a relatively complete WIP to a friend, and his only comment being ‘You could do better on the shading, it’s a little basic.’ It was meant with love but it made me want to flex. I already had this illustration inked a while ago but was hesitating on the colors until that moment. I knew exactly how I wanted it to look, unlike most of my paintings, there was very little experimenting or erasing. Primary three things I can note that I learned from this one was adding colorful Terminator lines at the edges of hard shadows, Subsurface scattering for skin tones, and being more careful and deliberate with blending modes. Three things I wanna push even further for the next piece!
